CBI Chargesheet NEET-UG Paper Leak A Multi State Conspiracy

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has named three subject experts associated with the National Testing Agency (NTA) in its chargesheet in the alleged NEET-UG paper leak case, pointing to a wider network involved in the circulation of confidential examination material for money.

According to the chargesheet filed before a Delhi court, the investigation has uncovered an alleged multi-state conspiracy in which examination-related information was obtained and subsequently supplied to prospective candidates through intermediaries. The agency has alleged that the accused operated a cash-for-leaked-paper arrangement, with candidates and other individuals allegedly paying money to gain access to the examination material.

The alleged network reportedly worked through several layers. Investigators have examined how confidential examination material was accessed, transferred between individuals and eventually made available to candidates. Intermediaries allegedly played a role in connecting those with access to the material with candidates seeking an unfair advantage.

The chargesheet reportedly names 13 arrested accused and details the alleged roles of individuals operating across different states. The CBI has been examining the flow of the examination material as well as the financial transactions that allegedly took place between members of the network and those seeking access to the paper.

The alleged involvement of NTA subject experts has emerged as a significant aspect of the investigation. These experts were associated with responsibilities requiring access to sensitive examination-related information. The CBI has alleged that their positions were misused as part of the wider conspiracy.

Investigators are also looking into the possible involvement of other individuals who may have helped obtain, circulate or arrange access to the confidential material. The probe is aimed at establishing the complete chain of events and identifying how the alleged leak reached candidates.

However, the allegations contained in the CBI chargesheet are yet to be established in court. The accused will have an opportunity to contest the charges and remain presumed innocent unless proven guilty. The investigation and subsequent judicial proceedings are expected to determine the extent of the alleged conspiracy and whether shortcomings in examination security were exploited.
