Rashmi Group Extends ₹5.25 Lakh CSR Support to Open-Water Swimmer Afrin Jabi

Kolkata: Rashmi Group has extended ₹5.25 lakh in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support to international open-water swimmer Afrin Jabi to help fund her upcoming Catalina Channel Expedition, where she will represent India.
The cheque was formally handed over at the Sangam Conference Hall inside the West Medinipur District Superintendent of Police’s office. West Medinipur SP Papiya Sultana and Rashmi Group Executive Director Bhaskar Chowdhuri presented the financial assistance to the swimmer.
The support has been provided through the CSR programme of Odisha Metallics Private Limited (Unit-1), a Rashmi Group subsidiary. This is the second instalment of financial assistance extended to Jabi. The company had earlier contributed ₹5 lakh at the District Magistrate’s office, taking its total support for her international expedition to ₹10.25 lakh.
The initiative reflects corporate support for Indian sporting talent and athletes pursuing challenging international campaigns.
