Bharat Vikas Parishad Alipore Branch Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Soldiers

The Alipore branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with soldiers with great enthusiasm and joy at the NCC Training Institute in Kolkata. Twenty female members of the organization tied rakhis (sacred threads) on 40 brave soldiers.

The event was attended by regional leaders, including Regional President Mr. Anil Agarwal and General Secretary Gopa De. Key branch officials present included President Vinod Mittal, Secretary Sushil Maheshwari, Finance Secretary Chandra Shekhar Dhaval, alongside Deepak Dubey, Deepa Gupta, Indranil Saha, Rani Dugar, Subhadra Ghosh, Manju Mittal, and other members.

To mark the occasion, Regional Vice President Mr. Jagdish Mundra performed patriotic songs, while Mrs. Shashi Lahoti, Gopa De, and Vaishali Chatterjee recited poems that left the audience spellbound. The program opened with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, offering floral tributes to Bharat Mata and Swami Vivekananda, and a collective recitation of Vande Mataram. It concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.

Senior military officers, including Colonel Parag Mukherjee, Colonel Abhijit Das, and Lieutenant Colonel Nishant Kalra, shared their thoughts on the occasion. Female members from Kalyan Ashram and Film/TV actress Suchandra Vaniya also tied rakhis on the soldiers.

The entire event was organized by Mrs. Indrani Netram, Service Coordinator of the Alipore branch, and anchored by Ms. Shruti Singhania, Regional Coordinator for Women’s Participation. Secretary Sushil Maheshwari delivered the formal vote of thanks.
