Apple has announced the launch of HomeView, its first smart home display in India, expanding its presence in the connected home technology market. Priced at ₹39,900, the device combines home automation, entertainment and communication features in a single display. Pre-orders reportedly began on October 13, 2026, with sales scheduled to start on November 13.
The Apple HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen designed to provide users with quick access to household information and connected devices. The display supports functions such as FaceTime video calls, music playback, personalised calendars and reminders, alongside controls for compatible smart home accessories.
A key feature of the device is its integration with Apple Intelligence and an upgraded Siri. The AI-powered assistant is designed to help users manage everyday tasks, access information and control connected devices through voice commands. The integration reflects Apple’s broader efforts to incorporate artificial intelligence into its ecosystem of products and services.
The device is also designed to support multiple household members. Its facial recognition technology can reportedly identify up to six people, allowing the display to provide personalised information, including individual calendars and messages. This feature is intended to make the device more useful in shared household environments while keeping users’ personal information separate.
Apple is offering HomeView in four colour options: silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey. A wall-mounted version is also available, giving customers the flexibility to position the display according to their home layout and preferences.
The launch places Apple in competition with existing smart home displays that combine voice assistants, entertainment and connected-device management. These products have become increasingly popular as consumers adopt smart lighting, security systems and other internet-connected household appliances.
With HomeView, Apple is seeking to bring its Apple ecosystem more directly into users’ homes through a dedicated screen rather than relying solely on smartphones, tablets and voice-controlled speakers.
At ₹39,900, the device enters the Indian market at a premium price point. Its reception will depend on how effectively its AI capabilities, privacy features and smart home integrations meet the needs of Indian consumers.
