Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised India for its strong support towards Israel, saying the country continues to receive immense affection from Indians despite facing growing criticism from several parts of the international community.

Speaking at a public event, Netanyahu said Israel was witnessing attempts at “delegitimisation” globally but continued to enjoy what he described as “crazy love” from India. His remarks highlighted the increasingly close ties between the two nations in recent years.

The Israeli leader referred to India as one of Israel’s most dependable partners and stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in areas such as defence, technology, innovation and security. He also described the India-Israel relationship as a strong alliance built on shared democratic values and strategic interests.

Netanyahu’s comments come at a time when Israel has been under international scrutiny over ongoing conflicts and military operations in West Asia. Several countries and global organisations have criticised Israel’s actions in the region, leading to diplomatic tensions and protests in many parts of the world.

Despite this, support for Israel has remained visible among sections of Indian society, especially on social media platforms. During recent regional conflicts involving Israel and Iran, many Indian users expressed solidarity with Israel through online campaigns and public messages.

India and Israel have steadily strengthened bilateral relations over the past decade, particularly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu. Cooperation between the two countries has expanded in sectors such as agriculture, cybersecurity, defence production, water conservation and trade.

Netanyahu’s remarks generated significant attention online, with supporters welcoming his acknowledgement of India’s support. However, some critics argued that India has traditionally maintained a balanced diplomatic position in West Asia and should continue engaging with all sides in the region.
