A 24-year-old woman was arrested by Mumbai police on Sunday for reportedly threatening Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with death.
The woman was identified as Fatima Khan, who was from the Thane region of Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra. According to the authorities, she holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology but is psychologically disturbed.

According to a threat message sent to the Mumbai Police on Saturday night, Yogi Adityanath would be assassinated, just like former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, if he does not step down within ten days. An unidentified phone sent the message to the Mumbai Police Traffic Control Cell.

After Yogi Adityanath was threatened, authorities notified the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). The woman thought to be associated with the threat was successfully located in Ulhasnagar by the ATS. The ATS team conducted an investigation at the woman’s home in collaboration with the local police. She was transferred to the local police station for additional interrogation after preliminary information was obtained.

Fatima has been taken to Mumbai so that she can be questioned more. After the interrogation, a senior IPS official confirmed that she had received a notice rather than an arrest.

Authorities also intend to evaluate the woman’s psychological state by doing a mental health examination. In response to the message, the Chief Minister’s security has been strengthened. On October 12, three individuals shot and killed Baba Siddique outside the office of his son Zeeshan Siddique.

The threat was made just days after a man was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 30, for threatening Bollywood star Salman Khan with murder and demanding a Rs 2 crore ransom. The individual was named as Azam Mohammed Mustafa from Bandra East in Mumbai, according to a report by news agency PTI.

Similarly, on Tuesday, October 29, a 20-year-old guy was taken into custody in Noida for threatening Salman Khan and Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, an NCP MLA for Bandra East. Zeeshan Siddique and Salman Khan were also asked to pay the accused, who was named as Muhammad Tayyab.
