The S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences is an autonomous research institute engaged in basic and applied science research. The institute was founded in 1986 under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The Centre was established to honour the life and work of Satyendra Nath Bose, who was a colossal in theoretical physics and has made some of the most fundamental conceptual contributions in the development of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Statistics.Over the last four decades, the Centre has grown into a distinguished institution of scientific research and learning by establishing advanced laboratories and state-of-the-art computational and academic facilities. Across the generations, scientists, scholars, students and staff members have carried the spirit forward and explored the new avenues of thought and discovery.As part of celebrating 40 years of the Centre, a dedicated Archive will be inaugurated on 13th June 2026 within its campus to pay tribute to the visionaries and members of the Centre whose collective efforts have shaped the Centre into an institute of international repute.The Centre cordially welcomes you to be a part of the milestone celebration.Chief Guest: Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Education, Government of IndiaGuest of Honour Prof. G.
