






The Beating Retreat ceremony was held on January 29 at Vijay Chowk, New Delhi, in the presence of the President Draupadi Murmur, the Prime Minister Modi, the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with other eminent ministers, and distinguished guests, marking the formal conclusion of the Republic Day 2026 celebrations. The event drew large crowds and senior defence officials, creating a dignified national atmosphere. Massed bands of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Delhi Police, and Central Armed Police Forces presented synchronized performances of martial and patriotic tunes. The precision drill and musical coordination showcased the discipline and heritage of India’s armed forces. As dusk fell, the illumination of the North and South Block buildings enhanced the grandeur of the ceremony. The program concluded with traditional retreat calls and ceremonial protocol, symbolizing the close of the national festivities.
