Major Update On Food In Trains; New Directive From The Ministry Of Railways

The Railways have established a special arrangement for people who only eat vegetarian meals. If you experience a similar issue, you will be delighted to hear this news. Following a recent Ministry of Railway directive, travelers will now be allowed to have entirely satvik meals while traveling.

There will be satvik food in the passenger seat. The Indian Railways subsidiary IRCTC and ISKCON have teamed up to offer satvik meals to travelers throughout their journey. According to this, travelers who buy meals from the ISKCON temple’s Govinda Restaurant would have them delivered to their seats. The Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi currently offers this service as per the terms of the agreement between IRCTC and ISKCON.

No issues will arise for the passengers

The Railway Board informed us that certain passengers (who eat satvik cuisine) have doubts about the purity of the food given on the train on the occasion of the opening of this facility. This is a common occurrence for tourists making lengthy journeys. Many travelers will not even consume onion or garlic. These travelers steer clear of the food in the pantry vehicle. However, with the addition of this feature, such passengers won’t experience any issues.

Utilize this service in this manner

You must make reservations for meals on the IRCTC’s e-catering website or Food on Track app if you or your family wishes to consume sattvic food while traveling by train. You must place your order with your PNR number at least two hours before the train’s departure. The meal will arrive at your seat after the order has been processed. Passengers eating at Govinda restaurant will be able to sample Old Delhi Veg Biryani, Deluxe Thali, Maharaja Thali, Dal Makhani, paneer dishes, noodles, and another sattvic cuisine.
