BOBBY CHAKRABORTY’S 411th ANTI ADDICTION CAMPAIGN AT INSTITUTE OF ADVANCE EDUCATION & RESEARCH
A transition from from school to college life means access to more ‘independence’ and ‘money’ for a young mind, both of which are powerful weapons,which can make or break a life. So we greatly appreciate The IAER(Institute of Advance Education & Research) family, with the main initiative from Dr.(Prof.) Srabani Talukdar, Dean of School of Health Science, to collaborate with actor/activist/teacher of method acting Bobby Chakraborty,for his globally acclaimed, free of cost awareness program, titled ‘I AM THE KING OF MY MIND’, for the youth, against all sorts of addiction and harmful social trends, at their reputed college on 10th October. This was Bobby’s 2nd session here.
The official photographer of the session was Bivas Saha, a hardworking, dedicated student from BCA (1st year) assisted by Debangshu Sasmal.
Bobby took stage to address the students from different streams, most of whom were from the 1st year, on burning issues of smoking, alcoholism, substance abuse, smart phone addiction, addiction to pornography, ragging, bullying, abusive language,online gambling and obscene/age inappropriate behaviour online to garner ‘views’, which are destroying a generation.
He took to true incidents as reference points, including the mishap in his own family due to addiction, to explain the necessity of the powerful formula HCF(Health -Career-Family) to lead a worthy life. He devised ways to rule one’s own mind in order to believe in the mantra of life ‘I am the king of my mind’.
The students or Bobby’s ‘soldiers’, were extremely receptive and supportive about each point of his pertinent discussion.
The ceremonial titles of ‘The 1st Soldier’ went to Debangshu and ‘The Trendsetter’ went to Mousam.
The surprise contest at the end had Tanushree, Premjit and Biswajit as the winners, who along with Bivas were given special prizes, HCF t-shirts and Community Service Certificates by their beloved ‘Bobbydada’.
The session saw a powerful and emotional vote of thanks from Dr. Srabani Talukdar who thanked Bobby for his years of selfless service to the society for the betterment of the youth, who are our future.
