KSU: Through this communique, the Khasi Students Union (KSU) directs the members of the Coordination & Welfare Committee, Shella Bholaganj & adjoining areas to come forward instead of telling lies and showing crocodile tears infront of the government and the world through the media.
The allegation against the members of the KSU by the CWC only shows that the people are challenging the KSU by misleading the people without any proof or evidence.
The KSU challenge Gopal Dey if he dares he should come forward and present evidence against the members of the union. This same person and others had made the same allegation in 2020 in regards to the incident at Ichamati in which many of our members were attacked by the illegal immigrants which led to the death of Lurshai Hynniewta, KSU Sohra Circle member.
The CWC in its complaint letter filed with the chief minister has levelled different kinds of allegations against the KSU and the Khasis.
The KSU is sending a clear message to the CWC to refrain from making false allegations because the KSU will not just sit idle and do nothing about it.
If the CWC feels that they are at the receiving end by residing in Meghalaya, they should consider going back to their place of origin, Bangladesh and then do whatever they want in their own homeland.
But as long as they live in our Khasi land it is better for them not to interfere with the indigenous rights in terms of law, land, trade and others.
The KSU reiterated that apart from demanding implementation of the ILP, the article 371, empowerment of the district councils, cut off date should be March 24, 1971 and those coming after this, should be deported back to Bangladesh.
The KSU further urged the Khasis not to fall into the trap or being misled by such false information spread by the illegal immigrants through the media or social media because this is nothing but an attempt to divide the indigenous people. The KSU said the illegal immigrants are playing victim card whereas their plan to divide the people.
