Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield’s upcoming film, “We Live In Time,” has released its first trailer, building anticipation ahead of its world premiere this September. The romantic drama, directed by John Crowley—known for his work on “The Goldfinch” and “Brooklyn”—features Pugh, a star of “Dune 2,” and Garfield, famous for his role in “Spider-Man.”

Studiocanal, the UK distributor, released the official poster and a first-look image of the movie to coincide with the trailer’s launch on July 10, confirming the much-awaited premiere. “We Live in Time” will make its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6.

The film’s synopsis offers a glimpse into the emotional journey of the characters Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield). A chance encounter brings them together, forever altering their lives. Through various stages of their relationship—falling in love, building a home, and becoming a family—a challenging truth emerges, shaking their bond to its core. As they navigate the constraints of time, they learn to cherish each fleeting moment of their unconventional love story. Crowley’s direction promises a deeply moving, decade-spanning romance.

In a first-look image, Pugh and Garfield are captured sharing a laugh while strolling through a park with coffee in hand, showcasing their on-screen chemistry. This heartwarming snapshot hints at the film’s blend of tender moments and emotional depth.

Adding to the film’s allure, Benedict Cumberbatch serves as one of the executive producers, with the screenplay penned by Olivier Award-winning playwright Nick Payne. This collaboration of talent hints at a richly crafted narrative and compelling performances.

“We Live In Time” reunites Crowley and Garfield, who previously collaborated on the 2007 drama “Boy A.” Reflecting on working with Garfield again, Crowley noted the actor’s significant growth and refined craft, calling it a gift to witness on set.

Despite the excitement surrounding its premiere, the film does not yet have an official release date. However, Crowley suggested in an interview on the UCC Talking Pictures Podcast that the movie is expected to hit UK cinemas in the autumn.

The anticipation for “We Live In Time” is further fueled by the stellar performances of Pugh and Garfield, both acclaimed for their versatility and emotional depth. Their on-screen pairing, combined with Crowley’s adept direction and Payne’s poignant writing, sets the stage for a film that promises to be both heartwarming and heartrending.

As the premiere date approaches, fans eagerly await to see how “We Live In Time” explores the nuances of love, time, and the transformative power of human connections. The trailer’s release has already sparked significant interest, suggesting that the film will be a standout at the Toronto International Film Festival and beyond.
