Unlicensed Chinese jammers found in Delhi stores

News Mania Desk / Piyal Chatterjee / 27th October 2024

On Saturday, two unlicensed Chinese jammers were discovered at a store in Delhi’s Palika Bazaar, endangering public safety and going against the Center’s policies that forbid its usage or sale by unauthorized individuals. The store owner, Ravi Mathur, was taken into custody by the police because he lacked the necessary paperwork and a license to sell the gadgets.

Only authorized government and defense officers with the proper permission and documentation are permitted to use the Chinese jammers, according to Center regulations. Mathur claims that he paid ₹25,000 for the jammers at Delhi’s Lajpat Rai Market with the intention of selling them for more.

All cellular activity in the area, including SMS and incoming and outgoing calls, was jammed by the devices, which may interfere with mobile signals up to 50 meters. The phones displayed a “no network” indicator, and the jammers forced the termination of all active calls.

Because of the jammers, the police would not be able to trace the conversations that occurred at the scene of a crime. According to sources, the Telecommunication Department has been notified about the occurrence by the Delhi Police. They stated that they are also conducting searches in other markets within the nation’s capital.
