Hotels receive bomb threat in Lucknow

News Mania Desk / Piyal Chatterjee / 27th October 2024

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, at least ten large hotels—mostly upscale establishments—received bomb threats via email on Sunday. In the event that the $55,000 ransom demand (Rs 4,624,288) is not paid, the email threatened to explode.

“Bombs are hidden in black bags on the grounds of your hotel. I want $55,000, or I will detonate the explosives and blood will spread everywhere. Any attempt at defusing the bombs will detonate them,” reads the bomb threat email.

Local authorities launched rapid investigations after hotel management notified the police of the threat.

This occurred two days after bomb threats were made against three hotels in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, which is near a temple. As a result of Jaffer Sadiq’s detention, the email claimed that “international pressure” had increased and that “such blats (sic) in schools are necessary to divert the attention away from MK Stalin family’s involvement in the case.”

A bomb threat email was also sent to Bengaluru’s Taj West End Hotel last month. As a result, the authorities brought in the bomb squad and sniffer dogs for examination. A senior police officer, however, declared the bomb threat to be a hoax after conducting the investigation.
