IAF fighter jet crashes in Haryana’s Panchkula

A fighter jet from the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Panchkula district of Haryana during a standard training flight on Friday. The IAF reported that the pilot faced a system failure and steered the plane away from populated areas before safely ejecting.
An IAF representative stated that the pilot was transported to a hospital for a health examination. As per reports , the plane had departed from the Ambala airbase for a training mission.
Last month, a Mirage 2000 fighter jet with two seats went down close to Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh during a regular training mission. Both pilots safely ejected prior to the crash.
In November 2024, a MiG-29 fighter aircraft went down in a field close to Agra in Uttar Pradesh during a standard training flight because of a technical malfunction. The pilot safely ejected himself during the crash. The aircraft had departed from Adampur in Punjab and was en route to Agra for a drill when the event occurred.
