Dr. Debendra Pradhan a stalwart of Odisha politics , 3-time BJP State President, former Minister passed away 

Dr. Debendra Pradhan  a pioneer , humanist , former President of Bharatiya Janata Party in Odisha , former Minister , father of Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan  passed away in New Delhi on 17th March 2025 due to age related ailments.

Dr. Debendra Pradhan  served as Minister of State for Surface Transport and Agriculture in the Second Vajpayee ministry.

He was elected to the 13th Lok Sabha from Deogarh constituency. He was also a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Nalam, Dhenkanal district, Orissa Province, British India.

Dr. Debendra Pradhan was a medical doctor by profession . He was educated in Medicine and Surgery at Srirama Chandra Bhanja Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack. 

Dr. Debendra Pradhan was three-time BJP Odisha 

State  President (1988-1990, 1990-1993, 1995-

1997), Dr Pradhan was instrumental in establishing the

BJP’s foundation in Odisha during its formative years.

Dr. Debendra Pradhan began his political journey as BJP’s Talcher Mandal

President (1980-1983) . Dr Pradhan was elected twice 

from erstwhile Deogarh

Lok Sabha constituency (1998 and 1999).
