Supreme Court body recommends 7 high court judges’ transfer for inclusivity

The Supreme Court collegium has suggested transferring seven high court judges, among them four from the Karnataka High Court, to promote inclusivity and reinforce the administration of justice throughout the judiciary.

The collegium, led by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, made the decision during meetings conducted on April 15 and April 19. In a statement released following the meetings, the collegium declared , “With a view to infuse inclusivity and diversity at the level of high courts and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice, the Supreme Court collegium in its meetings held on 15th April, 2025 and 19th April, 2025 has recommended transfer of the judges of high courts.”

Among those suggested for transfer from the Karnataka High Court are Justice Hemant Chandangoudar to the Madras High Court, Justice Krishnan Natarajan to the Kerala High Court, Justice Neranahalli Srinivasan Sanjay Gowda to the Gujarat High Court, and Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad to the Orissa High Court.

The collegium additionally suggested transferring two judges from the Telangana High Court: Justice Perugu Sree Sudha to the Karnataka High Court and Justice Kasoju Surendhar, referred to as K Surender, to the Madras High Court.

Furthermore, Justice Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao from the Andhra Pradesh High Court has been suggested for transfer to the Karnataka High Court.
