As soon as he returned from Bhutan on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the victims of the Red Fort explosion at Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital. Ten people were killed and more than twenty were injured in the explosion at one of the popular tourist destinations in the nation’s capital.
After arriving in Delhi, the Prime Minister, who was on a two-day state visit to Bhutan, immediately proceeded to the LNJP hospital. According to sources, PM Modi spoke with each injured person one-on-one and wished them a quick recovery. Additionally, hospital administrators and physicians briefed him.
Bypassing the media at the main entrance, PM Modi entered the hospital grounds through a second rear gate after promising that the Red Fort bombing perpetrators would not be spared. A high-intensity explosion that tore through an automobile close to the Red Fort on Monday left a trail of mangled bodies and ruined cars, resulting in 10 fatalities and 24 injuries.
It happened on the same day when 2,900 kg of IED-making material were found in Faridabad, Haryana, following the disruption of a terror group that included Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The Prime Minister continued his state visit in spite of the tragedy, speaking at the Global Peace Prayer Festival (GPPF) in Thimphu. But by briefly switching to English, PM Modi conveyed a clear message to the offenders on the international scene: they will not be spared.
“We will get to the bottom of this conspiracy, and the conspirators will not be spared,” PM Modi said.
“All those responsible will be brought to justice,” the Prime Minister thundered, switching to English. This is the second time he has done so during a public address, after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
