Actor Sonakshi Sinha briefly stirred an online conversation after expressing dissatisfaction with Air India over a long flight delay, before later deleting her social media post. The incident once again brought airline punctuality and passenger communication into focus, particularly when highlighted by a public figure.
Sonakshi had taken to social media to complain about a delay of nearly six hours on an Air India flight. In her post, she voiced frustration over the inconvenience caused to passengers and questioned the airline’s handling of the situation, especially the lack of timely updates. The actor’s remarks resonated with many travellers who shared similar experiences of extended waiting times and limited communication during delays.
Several users supported her stand, saying that passengers have the right to demand accountability and transparency from airlines, regardless of whether the complaint comes from a celebrity or an ordinary traveller. Many pointed out that flight delays can disrupt work schedules, family commitments and onward connections, making clear communication crucial.
However, the post also drew criticism from a section of social media users, who felt the issue could have been addressed directly with the airline instead of being aired publicly. Some argued that operational delays are sometimes unavoidable due to weather conditions, air traffic congestion or technical issues, and cautioned against quick judgments.
Shortly after the discussion gained momentum online, Sonakshi deleted the post, leading to speculation about whether the move was prompted by backlash or a private resolution with the airline. The actor did not issue a follow-up statement explaining the reason for removing her comment. Air India did not make a public response specifically addressing the deleted post.
