IPS Isha Singh Transferred After Viral Crowd-Control Confrontation at TVK Rally

IPS officer Isha Singh has been transferred following a high-profile incident at a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally that brought her into the national spotlight. The transfer comes days after a video of her firmly confronting a senior TVK leader during the public event went viral on social media, earning her widespread attention and praise from many quarters.

The incident occurred at a rally organised in Puducherry, where Singh was deployed to oversee security and crowd management. With the venue already filled beyond its permitted capacity, she intervened when party leader Bussy Anand urged more people to enter the ground. Singh took the microphone and publicly reprimanded the leader, warning that allowing additional crowds could lead to a dangerous situation. She reminded organisers of the recent stampede tragedy linked to a TVK event, stressing that negligence in crowd control could cost lives.

Her actions were seen as particularly significant given the backdrop of a deadly stampede at a previous TVK rally, where dozens lost their lives due to overcrowding. Authorities had imposed strict safety norms for the Puducherry event, including limits on attendance and movement.
