Iranian state media has confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, was killed in joint US–Israel airstrikes targeting key Iranian military and government installations. Top Military Leadership Also Killed

Iranian state television further reported that senior military officials were killed during an airstrike on a meeting of Iran’s Defence Council. Those confirmed dead include:

  • Abdol Rahim Mousavi, Chief of Army Staff
  • Aziz Nasirzadeh, Defence Minister
  • The head of the Revolutionary Guard
  • Security adviser Ali Shamkhani

State media reported at least 201 people killed and over 700 injured, with approximately 40 Iranian officials among the casualties.
