Hon’ble MoS Shri Shantanu Thakur Inaugurates CII EXIM Conference 2026 in Kolkata

Kolkata: Hon’ble Minister of State Shantanu Thakur inaugurated the CII EXIM Conference 2026 in Kolkata, themed “Enhancing India’s Competitiveness in the Export Markets.”

Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the conference aims to strengthen India’s EXIM ecosystem and expand the nation’s global trade footprint. The platform brings together policymakers, trade experts, and industry leaders to deliberate on strategies for boosting exports, improving ease of doing business, and enhancing global market access.

The Hon’ble Minister shared the dais with distinguished dignitaries including Aung Myo Thein, Consul General, Consulate General of Myanmar; Shashwat Goenka, Chairman, CII Eastern Region & Vice Chairman, RPSG Group; and Sandeep Kumar, Chairman, CII ER International Trade Subcommittee & Vice President, Tata Steel Ltd.

Discussions at the conference are expected to focus on policy reforms, logistics efficiency, sectoral export growth, and strengthening India’s competitiveness in emerging and established markets alike.

The event underscores Kolkata’s growing importance as a strategic hub for trade and industry in Eastern India, reinforcing collaborative efforts between government and industry to accelerate export-led growth.
