Rahul Arunoday Banerjee Dies in Tragic Drowning Incident at Talsari Beach

The Bengali entertainment industry has been left in shock following the untimely death of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, who reportedly drowned during a shoot near Talsari beach. He was 43. The incident occurred on March 29 at Talsari, a coastal location near the West Bengal–Odisha border, where the actor had been filming for a television project. According to reports, Banerjee entered the sea after the shoot when he was suddenly caught in strong currents and swept away by waves. Members of the production crew quickly initiated a search and managed to retrieve him from the water.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Digha, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Preliminary medical findings confirmed drowning as the cause of death, with reports indicating that water had entered his lungs, leading to fatal complications.
Authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Initial inquiries have raised concerns about safety arrangements at the filming site, with officials examining whether proper permissions and precautions were in place during the shoot.
Banerjee was a well-known name in Bengali cinema, television, and digital platforms, admired for his versatility and strong screen presence. Over the years, he built a loyal fan base through a range of performances across genres. He is survived by his wife, actress Priyanka Sarkar, and their son. The family has requested privacy as they cope with the loss.
