Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to engage in discussions with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in New Delhi today. The two leaders will review the full range of India-Poland bilateral relations and exchange perspectives on regional and global matters of common concern. Multiple agreements are anticipated following the discussions.
Tusk is accompanied by Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domanski and a significant business delegation.
This is his second trip to India as Poland’s prime minister. He first visited India during his previous term in 2010. In 2017, Tusk visited New Delhi for the India-EU Summit while serving as president of the European Council. During his current visit, he will travel to Bengaluru, where he is scheduled to meet business stakeholders, including representatives from the IT and space industries.
During Modi’s visit to Poland in August 2024, India and Poland upgraded their bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership. The two countries marked 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2024. Bilateral trade was estimated at more than $6 billion in 2025, while Indian investments in Poland exceeded $3 billion. Approximately 3,500 Indian students are pursuing higher education in Poland.
Poland is also home to an Indian diaspora of more than 30,000 people. The visit is expected to strengthen the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and promote cooperation in trade and investment, defence, emerging technologies, renewable energy, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges. It could also help reinforce strategic cooperation between India and the European Union.
