India and Vietnam Strengthen Strategic Partnership During High-Level State Visit

India welcomed H.E. Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on an important state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and strategic ties between the two nations.

The visiting Vietnamese President was accorded a grand ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, reflecting the deep friendship and longstanding diplomatic relationship shared by India and Vietnam. Senior Indian leaders and officials participated in the formal welcome ceremony, which highlighted the significance of the visit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi later held high-level bilateral talks with President To Lam at Hyderabad House. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, defence, connectivity, technology, energy, maritime security, and cultural exchanges. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Vietnam.

Following the talks, multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the two countries in key sectors including economic cooperation, digital technology, education, and regional connectivity. The agreements are expected to further expand collaboration and open new avenues for mutual growth and development.

The visit marks another significant step in deepening India-Vietnam relations and reinforces both countries’ shared vision for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
