Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the swearing-in ceremony in Assam as the Bharatiya Janata Party secured a historic third consecutive term in the state.

Senior BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath once again as the Chief Minister, reaffirming the party’s continued dominance in the northeastern state. The ceremony was attended by several senior political leaders, party workers, and supporters, marking another significant milestone for the BJP in Assam.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi congratulated the people of Assam and expressed confidence that the new government would continue working towards development, stability, and prosperity in the region. He highlighted the progress made in infrastructure, connectivity, education, and welfare initiatives during the previous terms of the BJP government.

The Prime Minister stated that under the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam would continue progressing towards the vision of a “Viksit Assam” as part of the broader goal of building a developed India. He also praised the state government’s efforts in maintaining peace, promoting investment, and strengthening cultural identity.

With the BJP returning to power for the third straight term, the swearing-in ceremony symbolised political continuity and the party’s strong electoral presence in Assam.
