Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has revealed that actor John Abraham generously gave her the title of her upcoming film, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, without seeking any compensation, a gesture she described as uncommon in the Hindi film industry.
Speaking during the trailer launch of the film, Kangana shared that the project was originally developed under a different title, Nurses of Cama. The film is inspired by the bravery and sacrifices of nurses and healthcare workers at Mumbai’s Cama Hospital during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. As production progressed, the makers felt a new title would better reflect the broader spirit and message of the story.
Kangana explained that the title Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata resonated strongly with the film’s theme and vision. However, the title had already been registered by John Abraham. The actress said she personally approached the actor to request permission to use it for her project.
According to Kangana, John agreed immediately and transferred the title without demanding any payment. She expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that film titles are often considered valuable intellectual property in the industry and are rarely relinquished without financial consideration. She praised Abraham for his generosity and support, describing the move as an example of goodwill within the film fraternity.
The film, directed by Manoj Tapadia, focuses on the lesser-known heroes of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and aims to highlight the courage displayed by hospital staff who helped protect and save lives during the crisis. Kangana plays a central role in the film, portraying a nurse caught in the midst of the terror attack.
