SP Papia Sultana Leads Massive Crime Crackdown Across West Midnapore

Midnapore : Superintendent of Police Papia Sultana held a press conference today to brief the public on several important operations carried out recently across West Midnapore district.
In a joint operation between Ghatal and Daspur police, Ashish Singh, also known as Rakesh, was arrested while in possession of 9.738 kilograms of silver. The accused failed to provide valid documents for the silver, leading to his detention for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Angar Khan and Shukdev Nayak were caught in the Daspur police station area along with nine cattles. Police revealed that this gang has been involved in cattle thefts spanning multiple districts over the past three years. Authorities are actively searching for the gang’s leader and other members.
A major raid at Golden Resort Hotel in the Narayangarh police station area led to the arrest of the hotel owner and several others. During the operation, police seized registers, drugs, alcohol, and a large quantity of contraceptives. Preliminary inquiries indicate that a prostitution racket had been running at the hotel for an extended period.
SP Papia Sultana emphasized that meetings will soon be held with all hotel operators in the district. These meetings aim to enforce strict identity card verification and regular checks of hotel registers in order to prevent illegal activities.
The West Midnapore District Police reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on organized human trafficking, s**ual exploitation, and crimes against women. Authorities urged citizens to report suspicious activities and assured continued efforts to maintain law and order throughout the district.
