Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited Drishyam 3 is expected to record a strong opening at the box office when it arrives in theatres on October 2. The film, which is releasing on the Gandhi Jayanti holiday, has generated considerable interest among audiences and is showing encouraging signs through its advance bookings.

Trade estimates cited in reports suggest that the film could earn between Rs 45 crore and Rs 60 crore net on its opening day. If the response remains strong over the extended weekend, the movie could potentially collect around Rs 140 crore to Rs 170 crore during its first three days. The film had already recorded advance bookings worth around Rs 10 crore when the estimates were reported, indicating significant demand ahead of its theatrical release. Trade observers are also closely tracking the number of tickets sold through major national cinema chains.

One trade analyst has suggested that Drishyam 3 could surpass the advance-booking benchmark set by Singham Again, which sold around 2.27 lakh tickets for its first day across major national chains. The film could reportedly reach between 2.5 lakh and three lakh tickets before release. Drishyam 3 brings back several members of the franchise’s cast. Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, while Shriya Saran and Tabu are also reprising their respective roles. The new film additionally features Jaideep Ahlawat as Rajveer Singh Tomar, an officer from the Crime Branch.

The upcoming instalment is expected to continue the story of the Salgaonkar family while introducing a new conflict and investigation. Unlike the previous films, the Hindi version is reportedly being developed as an original continuation rather than a direct remake of the Malayalam Drishyam 3.

The franchise has built a strong following around its crime-thriller narrative, with the earlier films focusing on Vijay Salgaonkar’s efforts to protect his family while dealing with a police investigation. With a major national holiday providing an additional boost to theatrical footfall, the film’s opening-day performance will be closely watched by the industry. Its advance sales and projected weekend figures have already placed Drishyam 3 among the major Hindi releases being tracked at the box office.
