Aryabh Welfare Society Organised Thalassemia Camp and Puja Gift Distribution

Jhargram : This Puja, the Aryabh Welfare Society took the celebrations to remote villages in Belpahari, mixing health awareness with festive help.

The society held a thalassemia screening and awareness camp at Pathardanga village. At the camp, 26 unmarried young men and women were screened.

Haemato-oncologist Dr Debmalya Bhattacharya joined the programme online. He spoke about why early screening matters, and about prevention and awareness of thalassemia.

The society also brought a festive smile to local families. New clothes were given to 75 children and 65 men and women as Puja gifts.

In a second outreach programme, held at Purnapani village in Belpahari block, 15 Lodha-Shabar children also received new clothes.

Binpur MLA and physician Pranat Tudu joined the programme online. He praised the initiative and promised support for future programmes.

Belpahari Gram Panchayat Pradhan Jaydev Singh also promised to cooperate with the society.

Aryabh Welfare Society president and actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty said that reaching people who stay away from the social mainstream matters more than publicity. He added that wider participation in such work could help extend support to marginalised communities.

Secretary Chiranjib Goswami and other members of the society were present at the programmes.
