Jio Platforms IPO Listing on October 28: Key Details Retail Investors Should Know

News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/ 28th October 2026

Jio Platforms IPO is set to make its stock market debut on October 28, 2026, with its shares scheduled to begin trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) at 10 am. The listing follows strong investor interest in the company’s initial public offering (IPO), which attracted substantial demand across investor categories.

The Jio Platforms IPO raised ₹30,213 crore through a fresh issue of 27 crore shares, without an offer-for-sale component. The offering was subscribed 22.19 times overall, reflecting significant interest from institutional and retail investors. Qualified institutional buyers subscribed 70.55 times their allotted portion, while non-institutional investors subscribed 14 times. The retail investor segment recorded subscriptions of 2.72 times.

The substantial institutional participation highlights investor interest in Jio Platforms’ position in India’s telecommunications and digital services markets. However, market experts caution that strong IPO subscription figures do not necessarily translate into listing gains, as the opening price will depend on market conditions, investor sentiment and the valuation investors are willing to assign to the company.

According to the IPO details, a significant portion of the proceeds will be used to repay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Jio Platforms. Approximately ₹27,500 crore has been earmarked for debt repayment, while the remaining amount will be allocated towards general corporate purposes.

Jio Platforms has also reported strong financial performance. For the financial year 2025-26, the company recorded revenue of ₹1,46,885 crore and a net profit of ₹30,049 crore. Its financial results are expected to remain an important consideration for investors assessing its long-term growth potential and valuation.

For retail investors, the listing presents an opportunity to evaluate the company’s market performance after its debut. Analysts generally advise investors to consider business fundamentals, earnings growth, competitive pressures and broader market conditions before making investment decisions.

Although the IPO’s subscription figures indicate considerable demand, investors should avoid relying exclusively on listing-day expectations. The stock’s performance will ultimately depend on its valuation, financial outlook and the market’s assessment of its future growth prospects. Jio Platforms’ stock market debut is expected to draw significant attention from market participants, given the company’s scale and importance in India’s digital economy.
