Kolkata, 25 Sep: Mahalaya which marks the end of Pitripaksha and the onset of Devipaksha, also heralds annual autumnal festivities. It is also a day to pay remember our ancestors and pay homage to them. As an inexorable part of the cycle of life, they have left us but continue to live on in our hearts and our reverence. To rekindle their memories at the beginning of the auspicious occasion, TV9 Bangla has crafted a special programme “Acho Antare” to relive the memories of our ancestors who we continue to remember with fondness, warmth and love.
The programme will feature songs from different genres — Rabindra Sangeet to Agamoni, modern numbers and folk songs. Some of Bengal’s most loved artists such as Sraboni Sen, Sreeradha Bandopadhyay, Manomay Bhattacharya and Sourav Mani have performed to put together the programme. While Hiran Mitra will bring alive canvasses, Sutapa Talukdar will set the tone with her impeccable dance performance. Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar will unleash his signature magic with the sarod.
Mahishasurmardini – the immortal creation of hymns, words and music along with its three creators Birendra Krishna Bhadra, Bani Kumar and Pankaj Mallick along with anecdotes will be the subject of discussion.
