Actor Vijay, who also leads the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), unveiled the party’s flag at its headquarters in Panaiyur, marking a significant moment in the party’s journey. The flag, adorned with bands of red and yellow and featuring two war elephants and a vaagai flower, is not just a symbol but a powerful statement of the party’s values and goals.

Vijay highlighted that the flag carries historical significance, which will be elaborated on during the upcoming state-level conference. The event is scheduled for September 22 in Vikravandi, Villupuram district. During his speech, Vijay emphasized the importance of collective effort, urging his supporters to work not just for themselves but for the betterment of Tamil Nadu and its people. He expressed his vision of the flag as a representation of the victory of future generations in Tamil Nadu, rather than just a party symbol.

The flag’s design is rich in meaning. The red and yellow bands symbolize the vibrancy and resilience of the Tamil people. The two war elephants represent the strength and power of the people’s force, while the vaagai flower, a symbol of victory in Tamil culture, signifies the party’s aspirations for success and triumph.

Vijay’s address to the cadre, whom he affectionately referred to as ‘thozhargal’ (comrades), was filled with pride and confidence. He expressed his belief that his supporters would proudly display the flag in their homes and hearts, symbolizing their commitment to the party’s ideals. He also urged them to obtain the necessary permissions and adhere to regulations while hoisting the flag, ensuring that their actions reflect the party’s respect for the law and order.

During the event, Vijay administered a pledge to the party members, which underscored the party’s commitment to the principles of democracy, secularism, and social justice. The pledge paid tribute to the martyrs of Tamil Nadu who fought for India’s freedom and the rights of the Tamil people. It also included a vow to work towards eradicating discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, or place of birth, reflecting TVK’s dedication to equality and unity.

Vijay’s parents, renowned film director S. A. Chandrasekar and Shobha Chandrasekhar, were present at the event, showing their support for the party. They signaled their approval when the party anthem, “Tamilan Kodi Parakkuthu, Thalaivan Ugam Pirakkuthu” (The flag of Tamil flies; the era of the leader begins), was released, further solidifying the party’s cultural and political aspirations.

The TVK, which Vijay launched in February, is rapidly gaining momentum as it prepares for its first state-level conference. The unveiling of the flag is seen as a major step in the party’s efforts to establish itself as a significant force in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape. With Vijay’s star power and the party’s commitment to social justice, equality, and the upliftment of Tamil Nadu, the TVK is poised to make a substantial impact in the coming years.

The flag, with its rich symbolism and the ideals it represents, is expected to rally support among the people of Tamil Nadu, inspiring them to work towards a future of unity, strength, and victory.
