On April 19, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) will hold a protest meeting regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Act, announced AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday.

The Hyderabad MP stated that participants in the protest meeting will include members of the Muslim Personal Law Board from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, along with other Muslim organizations from both states. They will give speeches and inform the public about how the Waqf (Amendment) Act is detrimental to the Waqf.
The AIMIM leader stated that they are attempting to engage with members of the Parliament Waqf Committee, and if their availability allows, they could also join this public meeting.
Previously, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) filed a case in the Supreme Court challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025.
A bench of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Sanjay Kumar and K V Viswanathan decided to examine, for prompt hearing, the request of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, along with others such as Congress MP Mohammad Jawed and AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan regarding the matter.
