Akshaye Khanna’s electrifying dance entry in the song “FA9LA” from Dhurandhar has taken social media by storm, but the team behind the film has now revealed that the moment audiences are celebrating was never part of the script. Khanna was originally supposed to walk through the performers and take his place on a throne. However, struck by the energy on set and sensing an opportunity to elevate the scene, the actor asked if he could try dancing instead. Once permitted, he stepped in and improvised the entire sequence on the spot.

According to crew members present that day, there was no choreography prepared for him. Khanna simply joined the dancers mid-shoot and delivered the unexpected moves with full confidence, leaving the cast and crew both surprised and impressed. His spontaneity instantly reshaped the tone of the scene and ultimately created one of the film’s most memorable moments.

Filming, however, was far from effortless. The sequence was shot in the harsh, high-altitude conditions of Ladakh, where low oxygen levels posed a constant challenge. To cope, Khanna kept a portable oxygen cylinder nearby and used it whenever his oxygen levels dipped. Despite the physical strain, he pushed through the demanding conditions and completed the shoot with determination.
