Alexandra Daddario is expecting her first child with her husband, Andrew Form. The actress shared the exciting news on her Instagram account on Wednesday, aligning the announcement with her recent Vogue profile. In the profile, Daddario opened up about her journey, revealing that she had previously been pregnant but experienced a loss.
The White Lotus star chose to keep the specifics of her medical condition private, describing her experience as “long and complicated.” She expressed the difficulty of articulating the pain and trauma associated with such losses, saying, “Those kinds of losses and trauma are very hard to explain unless you’ve been through them. I really relate to all the women who have been through those kinds of things in a way that I didn’t understand fully before. It’s very, very painful.”
Now that she is pregnant again and everything is progressing healthily, Daddario feels a sense of relief but also acknowledges the complexity of her emotions. “I feel like now that I’m pregnant, and it’s all successful, and everything’s healthy, I shouldn’t complain,” she said. Despite this, she admitted that the pregnancy had initially been “quite hard to process” due to the myriad of complicated feelings it brought up.
To cope with the overwhelming news, Daddario immersed herself in work, finding it both a burden and a distraction. She explained, “I was so overwhelmed with work. Part of me was like, ‘This is the worst thing ever.’ Then part of me was like, ‘This is actually a great distraction’ because I’m not sitting there all day long in my house going, ‘If I pick up this pot to make pasta, is something bad going to happen? If I eat this pasta, is something bad going to happen?’”
In her Instagram post, Daddario expressed her excitement about the future, humorously mentioning her hopes for her child’s social circle. She wrote, “Excited for my child to go to pre-school with Margot Robbie and Hailey Bieber’s kids,” referencing other recent celebrity pregnancy news, although Robbie’s pregnancy has not been confirmed.
Daddario and Form tied the knot in 2021. Their journey together has now reached a joyful milestone as they prepare to welcome their first child. The actress’s openness about her previous loss and the complexities of her current pregnancy offers a heartfelt insight into the challenges many women face, highlighting the resilience required to navigate such personal experiences.
