News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee / 20th September 2024

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu caused a stir in politics when he claimed that pig fat was used to make laddus, which are served at the well-known Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati, during the previous government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.Naidu claimed that inferior components were used to make laddus during a meeting of the NDA legislative party on Wednesday. According to his party, the ghee used in the recipe contained animal fat.

During a press conference, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led by Naidu asserted that a laboratory test conducted on the samples given by the temple verified the presence of “beef tallow,” “lard,” and “fish oil” in the tampered ghee. In response, Reddy’s YSRCP denounced Naidu for engaging in “heinous allegations.”The Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple’s management organization, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), presented the ghee sample, which TDP claimed to have gathered. The TDP is currently disseminating the findings of a livestock laboratory in Gujarat that received these samples. The sample receiving date is July 9, yet the report is dated July 16. Notably, the TTD and the Andhra Pradesh government have not yet formally confirmed the lab report’s conclusions.

YV Subba Reddy, a senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha member who chaired TTD for four years, attacked Naidu over the matter, claiming it had “hurt the sentiments of the devotees.” He also urged Naidu to take an oath in front of the god regarding his accusations.YSRCP has retaliated against Naidu and TDP for attempting to use the opposition party as a political political football. President of the AP Congress Committee (APCC), Y S Sharmila, claimed that the two parties are engaging in “heinous” politics on Thursday and demanded that the CBI look into the event.
