Anmol Bishnoi Deported From US, Taken Into Custody in Delhi Over Baba Siddique Murder Case

Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a key accused in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, was brought to New Delhi after being deported from the United States. His arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday morning marked a significant breakthrough for Indian agencies pursuing multiple criminal cases linked to the Bishnoi gang’s international network.

Upon landing, Anmol was immediately detained by central agencies and taken for detailed questioning. Officials confirmed that his deportation followed months of coordination between Indian security agencies and US authorities, who had held him in custody for immigration violations and ongoing criminal investigations.

Anmol is wanted in several high-profile cases, most prominently the murder of politician Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son’s office in Bandra in October 2024. Investigators believe he played a crucial role in planning the attack, allegedly coordinating with shooters and providing logistical support from abroad. He is also connected to earlier crimes, including the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and a firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence, both of which drew nationwide attention.

Authorities revealed that Anmol escaped India using a forged passport and travelled through multiple countries, including Nepal, Dubai and Kenya, before reaching the US. His movements abroad reportedly allowed the Bishnoi gang to expand its international operations, using foreign safe havens to plan activities in India. His arrest is expected to disrupt these networks and provide intelligence on associates still at large.

The family of Baba Siddique welcomed Anmol’s return to India, expressing hope that investigators would now be able to establish the full motive behind the killing and identify all conspirators involved.

With Anmol now in custody, the case is expected to gather momentum as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle the wider criminal cartel linked to the Bishnoi brothers.
