Anushka Sharma Posts Images From Belur Math And Kalighat Temple

Anushka Sharma was camped out in Kolkata for a spell while filming Chakda ‘Xpress, a biopic of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, according to those who follow the actor on Instagram.

After finishing her schedule, she posted a photo gallery of her time in the West Bengali city, which is well-known for its culinary and historical tourism, on Instagram.

Once you are in Kolkata, it is impossible to resist the street cuisine and other Bengali delights, as well as the desire to visit famous locations. Similar circumstances occurred with Anushka, who referred to her activities in the city by using the hashtags “Eat-Pray-Love” in a recent Instagram post.

With images of her plate showing a variety of delicious foods, the new mother appeared to be on a gastronomic and culinary expedition. For instance, a picture of Aliah Phinni from Bow Barracks’ renowned New Aliah Hotel was placed next to a picture of Balwant Singh ki tea and samosa.

The actor also shared a photo of Puti Ram ki kachori aloo, Girish Ch Dey malaai roll, mithai ke baked and regular rasgulle, Paramount ke sherbet, which are all well-known dishes that are popular with both residents and tourists.

Regarding the spiritual component of the trip, Anushka visited Belur Math and Kalighat Temple with her daughter Vamika, who was visible in one of the images.

The headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission are located at Belur Math. Swami Vivekananda, who was Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s chief pupil and lived a life of devotion to Goddess Kali, founded these organizations.

On the Hooghly River’s west bank in Belur is where you’ll find Belur Math. It is interesting to note that the building in this area combines Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist, and Christian art and styles to suggest the unity of all religions.

The Kalighat Temple, which honors Goddess Kali, is also counted among the Shakti Peethas. It is a combination of the terms Kali—named after the Goddess—and ghat, which refers to a landing or set of steps, typically found near a body of water. It is situated in Kalighat, Kolkata. Kalighat was a ghat considered sacred to Kali that was located on the historic route of the Hooghly river, according to the official West Bengal Tourism website. It’s interesting to note that the word Kalighat was allegedly the source of the city’s former name, Calcutta. The temple is located along the banks of Adi Ganga, a narrow canal that joins the Hooghly.
