At its ‘It’s glowtime’ event on September 9, Apple is scheduled to reveal the iPhone 16 series. The corporate behemoth led by Tim Cook is probably going to introduce four new iPhone models at the event: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. As it does every year, Apple has not made many announcements regarding the 2018 iPhone range, but practically everything about the new devices has been leaked through leaks and rumors.
According to a Bloomberg story, Apple may start producing the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max series in India later this year, which would result in a price drop for these phones there.
The new iPhone 16 Pro models may see a price drop of up to 10% as a result of the premium iPhone models being assembled locally. In the meantime, the Cupertino, California-based corporation should be encouraged to further drop costs given the Indian government has recently reduced customs charges on mobile phones.
It is anticipated that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max would sport larger displays than its predecessors, measuring 6.3 inches (up from 6.1 inches) and 6.9 inches (up from 6.7 inches). Notably, this would imply that Apple is not inclined to cater to consumers who would rather have a smaller smartphone with the Pro models.
For the iPhone 16 Pro models, Apple is rumored to be utilizing a new Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, which could lead to lower bezels than the Pro versions from previous year.Indeed, if sources are accurate, the iPhone 16 Pro series—even the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 9 series—might feature the tiniest bezels of any smartphone on the globe.
The A18 Pro chipset, which replace the A17 Pro chipset from the previous year, is anticipated to power the iPhone 16 Pro models from Apple. The A18 chipset, which would be effectively the same processor but with a reduced clock speed, is expected to power the conventional iPhone 16 versions.
According to leaks, Apple may be planning to introduce Desert Titanium, a new brownish color, to the iPhone 16 Pro series. According to other rumors, there might be a Gold colorway released this year that has an impact on iPhone customers all over the world.
