Abhishek Banerjee’s Office Demolished Over Alleged Building Plan Violations

An office of Lok Sabha MP and Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee in Amtala, South 24 Parganas, was demolished by the authorities on Saturday.

According to officials, the demolition was carried out on the grounds that the structure had allegedly been constructed without an approved building plan and that there was no response to two notices reportedly issued by the administration.

A bulldozer was brought to the site in the morning, while a heavy police deployment remained in place to maintain law and order. Officials said the demolition began after a security cordon was established around the premises.

The development is likely to intensify the political confrontation in West Bengal, with reactions expected from both the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP.
