HM Amit Shah instructs agencies to step up anti-infiltration efforts and employ AI to address national security issues.

All agencies have been instructed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to implement stringent efforts to prevent infiltration. At the opening of the 9th National Security Strategies Conference-2026 in New Delhi, Mr. Shah gave the order to develop SOPs to address a range of national security issues by conducting an AI-based analysis of data accessible on Multi-Agency Center (MAC) platforms.

Mr. Shah emphasised training for the Home Ministry’s PRAHAAR program, speeding up trials by bringing fugitives back and using trial in absentia provisions, and using a thorough and integrated approach when looking into UAPA cases in order to effectively combat terrorism and radicalisation.

Discussions on the first day of the conference centred on important facets of national security, such as Pakistan’s use of proxy warfare, a policy framework to combat cybercrime, a vision document on drug control, detection and deportation of illegal migrants, fusion, analysis, and operationalisation of intelligence through the Multi-Agency Center (MAC), and response to counterterrorism challenges.

Before the inauguration, Mr Shah honoured the courageous Intelligence Bureau employees who gave their lives in the line of duty to protect national security and integrity by placing a wreath at the Martyrs’ Column.

Over 850 people from all over the nation are attending the two-day conference, which is being hosted in a hybrid style. The summit in Delhi was attended by the heads of Central Armed Police Forces, Central Police Organisations, Deputy National Security Advisors, Union Home Secretary, and State Ministers of Home Affairs. The meeting was attended virtually by domain specialists from specialised fields, DGsP of States and UTs, and young police officers operating at the cutting edge.

Today’s second day of the conference will be devoted to discussing the need for a biosecurity framework, protecting the blue economy, information warfare and its effects on national security, and the danger landscape from sub-aerial systems and developing responses.
