Vishwa Hindu Parishad Celebrates Janmashtami with Flag Hoisting, Puja and Cultural Programmes at Kharagpur

Kharagpur : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organised a colourful Janmashtami Utsav at Talbagicha in Kharagpur, West Midnapore district, bringing together devotees on the auspicious occasion of Lord Krishna birth anniversary.

The programme began with the hoisting of the flag at the VHP office premises, following which a puja was performed with full devotion. The atmosphere of devotion filled the venue as members and devotees offered their prayers.

A special highlight of the celebration was the Shankha (conch-blowing) competition, in which children and ladies participated with great enthusiasm. The rhythmic sound of conch shells echoed through the grounds as participants showcased this traditional Bengali skill.

A performance of the famous Bengali Putul Nach (traditional puppet dance), which added a cultural flavour to the occasion. The folk art drew appreciation from young and old alike.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Tapas Bandopadhyay of IIT Kharagpur explained the importance of Janmashtami and the objectives of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. He highlighted the significance of the festival in the lives of devotees and the role of the organisation in promoting cultural and spiritual values.

Karan and Sanat, who also addressed the gathering, highlighted various aspects of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad work and its message.

The programme was organised by Pritam Ghosh, Pritha Ghosh, Akash, Subir, Bubai, Swapan, Parikhit and a large number of Vishwa Hindu Parishad members, who worked together to make the celebration a success.
