As A Christian Country With Its First Hindu Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak’s Religious Affiliation Is Unknown

Rishi Sunak did not hold back from embracing his roots when he was appointed finance minister of Britain and took an oath by placing his hands on the Bhagavad Gita. Sunak asserts that he practices Hinduism while now being a British citizen. He asserts that he is of Indian ancestry both religiously and culturally. He used to be pleased to call himself a Hindu.

Sunak’s Hindu heritage is currently ignored because Infosys founder Narayana Murthy will be the UK’s next prime minister.

Being the first Hindu prime minister of the UK, Sunak represents a significant development in the multicultural and multireligious society that is Britain. Sunak is a practicing Hindu even if he doesn’t talk much about it in public.

According to media sources, Sunak always has a Shri Ganesh idol on his table. He previously pleaded with people to stop eating beef, although he never does.

He was chosen as the UK’s new prime minister during Diwali, a festival of lights celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains worldwide. It celebrates new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and the victory of light over darkness.

Sunak might be the first teetotal prime minister of the UK since David Lloyd George, with Coca-Cola as his favored alcoholic beverage. Before the well-known Hindu holiday honoring Lord Krishna’s birth, Janmashtami 2022, Sunak and his wife Akshata paid a visit to the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple.

Just two months after unrest in East Leicester made headlines around the world when a Hindu temple was vandalized, Sunak will become the new prime minister of the UK.

“Rishi Sunak’s undemocratic election as Prime Minister is not a success for diversity, and we’re not celebrating it as one,” the British magazine gal-dem stated on Twitter. Someone said that there will be a rise in idolatry in Britain.

While some are concentrating on Sunak’s ethnicity and religion, others anticipate him to lead the UK out of the severe economic crisis it has been through recently. While it is uncertain how Sunak will try to steer the U.K. through a recession, the majority of economists welcomed his nomination and expressed hope that his leadership will usher in a period of comparative stability. Under former Prime Minister Liz Truss, the British pound briefly hit a record low against the dollar.
