At Gunpoint, Passengers Aboard The Delhi-Kolkata Duronto Express Were Robbed In Bihar

A source claims that when nearly two dozen armed robbers boarded the train shortly after crossing Patna, someone immediately pulled the emergency chain.
According to reports, more than 20 armed robbers boarded a Delhi-Kolkata Duronto Express train early on October 16. According to the Firstpost story, the bandits climbed aboard at least six or seven of the train’s bogies and held numerous passengers, hostage, while robbing them of their belongings.
The event reportedly took place on train number 12274 at around three in the morning as it passed through Patna, Bihar. The Government Railway Police (GRP) staff allegedly got off the train at Patna station, according to the passengers. The driver was quoted in the newspaper as adding that shortly after, someone pulled the emergency chain, prompting over two dozen criminals to enter.
“There was a sudden ruckus about 10 kilometers after the train departed Patna, and I observed people rushing around. Soon after, the train came to a stop, and several passengers boarded some of the bogies.” Several passengers’ things were taken, according to a businessman from Kolkata who was on the train and spoke to Firstpost.
Before exiting the train, the GRP staff allegedly instructed the passengers to hide away their mobile phones and chargers.
When the train arrived at Kolkata’s Howrah station, many of the victims filed reports about the robbers taking their belongings and bags.
The episode seems to bring back memories of the gloomy times when there was no law and order, especially in some regions of the country like Bihar.
