Days after another Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, was slaughtered by a mob in the same district for supposed blasphemy, Bajendra Biswas, 40, was shot and killed by a coworker in Bhaluka upazila of Bangladesh’s Mymensingh.
Noman Mia, the accused, has been taken into custody.The deceased and the accused were both members of Bangladesh Ansar, the nation’s biggest paramilitary organization, according to the article.
Noman Mia and Bajendra Das were reportedly sitting together in his room at the time of the event, according to APC Md Azahar Ali, an Ansar member on duty with the Labib Group and an eyewitness. “Shall I shoot?” Noman Mia asked, suddenly pressing the shotgun on Bajendra Das’s leg before firing. Noman then left the area. He added that before the incident, he had not witnessed any disagreement or quarrel between them.
According to ANI, which cited RTV Online, the incident happened at the Sultana Sweaters Limited plant in the Mehrabari district of the upazila on Monday, December 29, at approximately 6:30 PM.
“The deceased Ansar member Bajendra Biswas was the son of Probitra Biswas of Kadirpur village under Sylhet Sadar upazila. The accused, Noman Mia, is the son of Lutfar Rahman of Baluturi Bazar area under Taherpur Police Station in Sunamganj district,” said a report .
