Bharat Mart in Dubai will be warehousing facility for Indian exports to GCC, Africa , Europe, & others

Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) hosted an interactive session on theme “Bharat Mart Dubai – India’s Gateway to the World” in Kolkata on Thursday, October 24, 2024 under the esteemed leadership of
Shri Yogesh Gupta, Regional Chairman, FIEO (Eastern Region).

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and the Ruler of Dubai, laid the foundation stone of Bharat Mart at Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone in Dubai that is being built by DP World, on 14 February 2024.

Bharat Mart will propel India-UAE bilateral trade further by leveraging Jebel Ali Port’s strategic location and strength in logistics. Bharat Mart has the potential to play an important role in promoting exports of the micro, small and medium sectors of India by providing them an effective platform to reach out to international buyers in the Gulf, West Asia, Africa, Europe , US.

Bharat Mart will strengthen trade ties between UAE and India. Both nations have set themselves the target of reaching $100 billion in non-oil bilateral trade by 2030, and Bharat Mart will support this goal, creating more opportunities for Indian manufacturers and contributing to government initiatives like Make in India and D33. Signing of UAE – India CEPA has put trade between two nations in high growth trajectory.

Bharat Mart will be gateway for Indian goods to reach UAE and other high-growth markets in Middle East, Europe , Africa with world-class infrastructure, logistics capabilities and business-friendly ecosystem in Jafza offered by DP World.
Jafza ‘s Director (Business Development) Mr. Amitesh Misra made a detailed presentation on Bharat Mart to members of FIEO. Misra explained to Indian business community about DP World philosophy & approach of integrated business solutions provider through its various companies.

Construction of Bharat Mart is expected to completed by 2027. Bharat Mart project of DP World supports India ‘ s initiative of India Middle East Corridor (IMC) to boost Indian exports to Europe & beyond.
