BJP protest against Kejriwal

Along with party members, former Delhi BJP leader Vijay Goel protested against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, alleging that he had illegally occupied a government mansion that had been assigned to his party MP. Goel declared that he would bring a complaint about the situation to the chairman of the Rajya Sabha.The BJP leader chastised Kejriwal for breaking his prior pledge to refrain from utilizing government privileges during the demonstration, which took place at 5 Ferozeshah Road outside the MP’s residence.

“This is the same Arvind Kejriwal who had given an affidavit saying he wouldn’t use a government bungalow, car, or security upon becoming chief minister, yet he occupied a mansion worth crores like Sheesh Mahal,” the former Union minister added. He claimed that the demonstration was meant to make Delhi residents aware of Kejriwal’s hypocrisy. On Friday, former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal moved into a bungalow in the Lutyens’ neighborhood, leaving behind the 6, Flagstaff Road residence where he had lived for nine years.The national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and his family have moved to 5 Ferozeshah Road, which is close to Mandi House. Ashok Mittal, the Rajya Sabha MP for Punjab for the AAP, has been given the bungalow.In a statement released later, the former Union minister claimed that Kejriwal shouldn’t be living in a home intended for a member of parliament, where amenities are offered at reduced costs to facilitate legislative work.

In his remark, Goel questioned how an MP could permit someone else to live in his official residence for an extended amount of time and said he would lodge a formal complaint with the chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
