Blast near Delhi school : Police find white substance on ground

On Sunday, there was a tremendous explosion near Rohini, Delhi’s Prashant Vihar. A video has surfaced online showing plumes of smoke rising from a location close to the CRPF Public School in Rohini after the loud explosion.

Images from the scene revealed that the explosion caused the windows of the surrounding cars to break and that the sound originated from the area surrounding the school’s wall. A white powder-like material was discovered close to the school’s wall.

According to sources, the loud noise might have been caused by a cylinder blow, and there are other stores close to the school’s wall. No injuries have been recorded as of yet, although the precise reason of the explosion is yet unknown.

“SHO/PV and staff reached the spot where the school wall was found damaged with a foul smell. The glasses of a nearby shop and a car parked near the shop were damaged. No one was injured. The crime team, FSL team and bomb disposal squad were called on the spot. The crime spot has been cordoned off. Fire brigade team is on the spot. The matter of the cause of the blast is being looked into,” said Delhi police.

“Our forensic team and crime unit are at the spot to collect samples from the blast location. It could be a firecracker, but we are investigating the entire matter from all angles,” a senior police officer told PTI.
