Bomb threats were made today against a number of Delhi institutions, including Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Krishna Model Public School, and Delhi Public School Dwarka.
Bomb threats were also made against a few schools in the Najafgarh region during the exam period. Officials say that at approximately 6:30 am, the Delhi Fire Department got its first call from a Najafgarh school. Bomb disposal units and police teams hurried to the schools right away.
As a precaution, personnel and students were securely evacuated as soon as possible. According to police, extensive searches of the property are presently being conducted.
In just eight months, over 150 institutions and colleges in Delhi-NCR have been the subject of a wave of bogus emails that began in January. The same reaction is elicited by every episode: sirens, evacuation drills, parents racing to campuses, and heavy police presence. There has never been anything harmful discovered. Numerous fictitious bomb threats have been made against Delhi’s courts, hotels, and hospitals, leading to frequent evacuations and stringent security checks.
On September 13, two locations of Max Hospital and the Hotel Taj Palace were the targets of several bomb threats.
Last week, the Delhi High Court also received bomb threats, which led to the implementation of high-alert protocols, the suspension of sessions, and the precautionary evacuation of judges, attorneys, litigants, and staff.
Following orders from the Delhi High Court, the Delhi government has implemented a new set of safety regulations to make schools safer. Preventive, preparedness, reaction, and recovery are the four primary topics they address. Schools have been instructed to update their safety inspections, add more CCTV cameras, conduct frequent evacuation drills, and make sure that pupils with disabilities are properly supported in the event of an emergency. District leaders will now receive a monthly safety report from each school.
